Dr. Morris

Dr. Ritchi Morris is the founder and director of Vital Quests, an integrative medicine health and performance group based in Hartsdale, NY and Stamford, CT. He is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, author, inventor, educator, and forensics expert. He is a Doctor of Integrative Medicine and has earned doctorates in Clinical Psychology, Naturoapathy, and Holistic/Oriental Therapies, as well as three Master's degrees. Upon graduating from Capitol University of Integrative Medicine in Washington, DC, in 2001, Dr. Morris received the President's Award for Meritorious Scientific Research in Integrative Medicine. In addition, Dr. Morris teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in sports psychology and in integrative medicine methods for stress and mental health management at New York area colleges and institutions. .

Dr. Richi Morris was recently inducted into the " Hall of Fame" for "Distinguished Accomplishments in Integrative Medicine Psychotherapy", see image at right.

Dr. Morris has been honored with the unique status of Board Certified Professional Counselor (B.C.P.C.) by the American Psychotherapy Association. (see diploma at right)

Dr. Morris has published numerous articles about hypnosis, stress management, sports psychology, sports nutrition, and integrative medicine remedies for peak performance and mental health syndromes such as PTSD, SAD, anxiety/panic disorders, depression, and phobias. He has conducted seminars/workshops about his technique, "Chromobiotics" , throughout the world.

Dr. Morris has recently been honored with the status of "Fellow" by the National Center for Crisis Management and also become Board Certified by that organization and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. The "Fellow" in Crisis Management is the highest honor the organization can bestow upon a member/professional.

Dr. Richi Morris has been recognized for  his "Outstanding Service to Society" and humanitarian efforts by the A.P.A. and the A.A.I.M.
Dr. Morris has recently had TWO very prestigious awards bestowed up him:
A: "Fellow" - (The highest level of professionalism possible) by the National Center for Trauma Management).
B: "Diplomate" - by the American Institute for Sports Psychology.

Chromobiotics is Dr. Morris's integrative medicine natural healing and peak performance technique. Dr. Morris is the originator of colored light hues therapy and the inventor of the Morriscope. This is a device designed to determine empirically, at the cellular level , an individual's most empowering and most debilitating hues of color (Called a Kryptonite shade or hue). These hues can then be applied to the syndromes cited in the previous paragraph as well as to peak performance. As a protégé of Helen and Jack Watkins, Dr. Morris combines Ego-State hypnosis methods with his CLT approach, Chromobiotics , in therapeutic and non-therapeutic areas.

Dr. Morris has worked extensively in various disaster relief efforts throughout North America, as well as during 9/11 in New York City, hurricane David, Katrina and Haiti. He has received awards of appreciation for this work and continues to render services to 9/11, Katrina and Haiti victims and their relatives. He has been a leader in developing techniques to address stress/trauma management and other stress-related syndromes such as PTSD, SAD, anxiety/panic attacks, and self-abuse/mutilation.

Dr. Richi Morris worked at the campus of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, with the victims, their families and others associated with this April 16th massacre. For the entire following week he counseled and gave support, and helped by performing a psychological autopsy. Then, after a brief return home, he returned to  New Jersey to provide his assistance to the victims of the raging fires in the Pine Lands area by Toms River and his beloved Long Beach Island.

The year 2009 saw Dr. Morris at the hurricane destruction of the Galveston, Texas area and later in midsummer in Binghamton NY to rectify the damages due to the slaughter of immigrants by a Vietnamese national. More recently he was back working in Texas at Fort Hood as a result of the murdered soldiers by psychiatrist Major Hasan. The Army sought Dr. Morris specifically because they have a critical shortage of mental health professionals who themselves have served in combat. Dr. Morris' unique service as US Army officer overseas from 1966-1968 qualifies him eminently.

As a forensics consultant, Dr. Morris has served as an expert witness in local, state, and federal courts. He has and does serve as an advisor to lawyers and law firms in jury selection and trial strategy. He is part of a select few in his field who have performed psychological autopsies.

Throughout his life Dr. Morris has practiced what he "preaches". As a lifelong athlete, he has excelled in athletic competitions from high school and collegiate football, wrestling, and track and field events to a third degree black belt in Jujitsu.  After his stint as an officer in the US Army Special Ops/Covert Ops units overseas from 1966-1968, he returned to become one of the founders and pioneers of the sport of powerlifting and has won a myriad of contests while setting over 100 regional, national, and world records, all drug-free.

Dr. Morris has combined his extensive training and competitive experience with his formal education to work with members of Olympic, professional, collegiate, and high school teams and individual athletes throughout the Western Hemisphere for almost forty (40) years. He has worked with players from the N.Y. Yankees, N.Y Mets, L.A. Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, etc., in spring training in Fla. for 39 years.

Recently, Dr. Morris was recognized by Psychology Today as "one of America's top 100 therapists." His unique Integrative/Natural Medicine methodology that he has pioneered utilizing Colored light hues, Ego-State techniques and Naturopathic / Homeopathic and/or Herbal remedies qualify him eminently as having been "Green" for over forty (40) years!

He has won over 500 trophies/awards for sports competition since 1958
