Electrodermal Screening

Long before there was the best-selling movie Avatar, Dr. Morris has been employing the Avatar devices in his EDS examinations/assessments.  In the true spirit of the mythological Avatar, Dr. Morris has utilized this instrumentation in quest of  discerning  an individual’s optimum health and wellness empirically.

In conjunction with the Morriscope, Dr. Morris uses the electrodermal screening tests (EDST) to diagnose his patients.  This modern version of EDST eminates from the electrodermal screening (EDS) procedure, invented by Dr. Reinhard Voll in the 1950’s in Germany and called Electro Acupuncture According to Voll. There are also EDS protocols predicated upon the classic TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) acupuncture point system.

Electrodermal screening involves strategic placement of a stylus on the specific acupuncture/Voll points of patient’s body's, these are called meridians in TCM treatments. These points broadcast information about an individual’s internal organs and systems and Chi energy flow within one’s body that affect his/her overall health and well-being.  

To conduct EDS testing, Dr. Morris uses EDS testing devices called Avatar: (http://www.veradyne.com/avatar_about.html) and Wavefront. These are completely mobile instruments, allowing for the diagnosis of patients during office and/or home visits.  EDS testing poses no risks to the patient.  The testing procedure is effortless, safe and painless. It is conducted by analyzing skin-level measurements only. There are no needles, pins, or anything else that punctures/penetrates one’s skin.

Dr. Morris specializes in integrative medicine treatment, a combination of Western and Eastern healing techniques which were created to heal a patient’s body, mind, and spirit in as natural a way as possible.  By using EDS within the concept of integrative treatment, it is possible to discern the patient’s energy imbalances. The major thrust is to identify the causal factors of one’s condition.  In certain cases, such causes may be viral, bacterial, nutritional, or produced by the side effects of prescription medicine that the patient may be currently taking.  EDS makes it possible to measure all  aspects of the patient’s status: spiritual, physiological, and mental-emotional.  In the latter case, Dr. Morris can determine whether the mental health syndrome (e.g. depression, etc.) is caused by a biochemical imbalance in the brain, or by circumstances in one’s life, or by dietary/nutritional deficits.
If the condition is attributed to a biochemical imbalance, Dr. Morris’ goal is to let the body dictate the appropriate herbal, naturopathic, homeopathic, and/or pharmaceutical remedies and their respective specific dosages. In the Avatar or Wavefront procedure correct dosages are measured by placing the remedies or medications in different combinations on the sensor plate. The client’s electro-magnetic responses are then measured by the sensor stylus that is placed on his/her energy points. Dr. Morris aims to prescribe as few remedies to the patient as possible, while maximizing the effectiveness of the treatment and minimizing or eliminating any possible side effects.

Lastly, when employing the Morriscope Dr. Morris incorporates these EDS devices. While a patient is exposed to the plethora of mono-chromatic hues/shades of color effortlessly and painlessly his/her responses are measured by EDS. These measurements are non-verbal and at the cellular level. Hence, these measurements are objective and biogenetic, not subjective, learned opinions. Dr. Morris also utilizes the biofeedback HRV (Heart Rate Variability) device for such response patterns as indicated.
